Crews scramble to contain blaze in Halkidiki

Emergency crews were on Monday trying to contain a wildfire which broke out in Kassandra, the westernmost peninsula of Halkidiki in northeast Greece.

The fire department said 150 firefighters, six ground teams, 40 vehicles, and four water-dropping plans were tackling the fire.

Efforts were made more difficult by strong winds spreading the blaze.
