Man rescued from beneath Athens metro train

A man has been rushed to hospital after firefighters rescued him from beneath a train in an Athens metro station.

The alarm was raised on Wednesday afternoon when the man fell on the tracks as a train was entering Korydallos station, which is on the blue line.

A team of 10 firefighters were involved in the operation.

Initial reports said the man is unconscious.
