The three men and a woman were arrested at Hersonissos, near Iraklion, on Thursday after security personnel had spotted three Middle Eastern people in a rented car taking photographs near the US base on Tuesday. The area is on heightened alert in case of terrorist attack. The four told the court that they did not know about the ban on taking photographs in the area, as the spot had no warning signs. This was accepted by the court. The Israeli Embassy issued a statement before the verdict, saying that All allegations attributed to them are completely false.
