Greece sends two water-dropping aircraft to Portugal

Greece has sent two Canadair CL-415 fire-fighting aircraft to help Portugal cope with wildfires.

The move came in response to a request for assistance submitted by Portuguese authorities via the European Civil Protection Mechanism.

Portugal is fighting major forest fires and expects very high temperatures in the next few days.

Greece has already provided assistance to Albania and France this summer. [AMNA]
