Singer Stamatis Kokotas dies at 85

Singer Stamatis Kokotas passed away at the age of 85 early on Saturday. He had been hospitalized with cancer recently, according to the Health Ministry.

Kokotas was born in Athens on March 23, 1937. He established his career during the 1960s and 1970s, when he collaborated with some of the most important Greek composers of the time, such as Stavros Xarchakos, Dimos Moutsis, Apostolos Kaldaras, Giorgos Hatzinassios, Yiannis Spanos, and Giorgos Zambetas.
