Search and rescue operation underway in Kythera

The Hellenic Coast Guard is undertaking a search and rescue operation off the island of Kythera after a sailing vessel with migrants struck some rocks and began to sink on Tuesday night. The number of migrants and refugees aboard is yet to be determined.
Forces engaged in the search include several boats and a Hellenic Navy helicopter.
There are strong winds blowing in the area.
