Farmer killed in wall collapse in Crete

A farmer, 71, in the southern island of Crete has died after a wall collapsed in an old building used as a storage facility and buried him in rubble, authorities said.

Emergency services were called to the village of Zofori near Iraklio, the island’s main city, on Thursday to reports that person had been injured.

The farmer was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police are investigating the incident.
