A mosaic floor…

A mosaic floor decorated with wrestling scenes from a 500-square-meter Roman palaestra (wrestling hall) excavated last year in the ancient city of Dion, beneath Mt Olympus in northern Greece. The 2nd century AD find was presented yesterday during a Thessaloniki conference on last year’s excavations in Macedonia and Thrace. It ends today.
