Determined to have the last word after being thrown out of a bar in a Thracian town early on Sunday, an army conscript returned in an armored personnel carrier which he drove up and down outside the establishment for some time. Army authorities have ordered an inquest into the incident, which involved an M-113 full-tracked vehicle from the 561 mechanized infantry battalion stationed near the village of Kavisos, three kilometers north of the town of Feres. Alexandros Mitrakas, 22, and another conscript were ejected from a Feres bar on Saturday night, for allegedly bothering a waitress, the Athens New Agency reported. Mitrakas returned to his camp, took a 20-ton M-113 and drove over the perimeter fence after guards at the gate tried to stop him exiting in a more conventional manner. He proceeded to Feres, where he maneuvered the vehicle for quarter of an hour outside the bar before driving back. Nobody was hurt, though a shop window got broken.
