Child porn ring linked to gay club

Five people have been charged with running a child pornography ring on the Internet which also advertised the services of an Athens gay dance club where minors were encouraged to meet men, police said yesterday. A police raid on the Spices club in Rouf, western Athens, resulted in another seven people being charged with public indecency and drug offenses after three men were found engaging in sex before an audience. The club’s disc jockey was charged with showing pornographic films. Two of the establishment’s three owners – Constantinos Nikolopoulos, 38, and Nikolaos Yiakoumis, 31 – were arrested. Yiakoumis was also one of the five men charged with setting up and operating four websites featuring child pornography. The other four were identified as Thomas Markoulis, 37, Iraklis Papadakis, 39, Nikolaos Koumaras, 36, and Alexandros Kallias, 55. The Internet sites contained adverts from pedophiles asking young boys to meet them at the Spices club.
