Police bust drug trafficking ring distributing pink cocaine in Athens
A drug trafficking ring operating in the Athens area, which was distributing pink cocaine, has been dismantled by officers from the drug enforcement unit of the Greek Police (ELAS).
Following a major operation, a 30-year-old suspect has been arrested. Two additional individuals, aged 33 and 23, are currently being sought in connection with the case.
The investigation uncovered the ring’s involvement in trafficking a variety of drugs, including skunk (processed cannabis), pink cocaine (also known as “tusi”), cocaine, methamphetamine and ketamine. These revelations followed a tip-off about the group’s activities.
On Monday night, the 30-year-old was apprehended with a significant drug cache. He was found in possession of twelve airtight plastic packages of skunk, totaling 12,930 grams, as well as three improvised aluminum foil packages containing a combined 2.8 grams of cocaine. The drugs were intended for distribution and had been supplied earlier by the 23-year-old suspect.
Further investigation led to a raid on a hideout in central Athens, where large quantities of drugs, including pink cocaine, were seized.
