Hunter dies after bee sting triggers severe allergic reaction
A 50-year-old man has died after suffering a severe allergic reaction to a bee sting while hunting in mountains near Domokos, Central Greece.
The man was stung on the ear and, aware of his allergy, immediately called emergency services while driving himself toward the nearest pharmacy for help.
During the drive, he is believed to have gone into anaphylactic shock, lost control of his vehicle and crashed into an embankment.
A friend following in a separate car found him still conscious inside the vehicle and rushed him to the pharmacy, where staff attempted to provide first aid. His condition, however, had already rapidly worsened.
An ambulance from the Domokos health center arrived shortly afterward, but despite resuscitation efforts, the man was pronounced dead upon arrival at the center.
