Anonymous warns of impending attack on Greek gov’t websites

The activist hacker group Anonymous has warned of “mass attacks” on Greek government websites on Saturday following an attack on the Athens Appeals Court’s website and a suggestion by the organization that it has accessed the Greek Parliament’s electronic files.

“We are everywhere and if everywhere means ‘The Greek Parliament,’ then yes. We have inside access there too,” the group said in a proclamation posted on the Internet.

“We want to express our support for Greek citizens and journalists who witness an authoritarian regime that has nothing to envy from the Erdogan regime,” the statement added, referring to Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Earlier in the week, Anonymous had uploaded a video onto YouTube warning of “mass attacks” on Greek government websites on Friday.
