Fresh clashes over Keratea landfill

One person was injured in fresh clashes between riot police and Keratea residents, southeast of Athens, early on Monday.

The residents, protesting the construction of waste management center near their community, threw rocks and Molotov cocktails at the police.

One protestor was injured when he was hit by a tear gas canister. Police also fired stun grenades to disperse the crowd.

Keratea residents have appealed a court decision that allows the landfill to be constructed just a few kilometres from their village.
