Fire aboard Greek ferry extinguished, no injuries
A fire that broke out on Friday in the funnel of a passenger ship that had been en route to the island of Samos from Icaria in the eastern Aegean was brought under control before it could cause serious damage or any harm to passengers and crew, authorities said.
Coast guard vessels were dispatched to aid the Nissos Myconos and officers helped extinguish the blaze.
All the 250 passengers and crew members aboard the Nissos Myconos were said to be safe and well.
