Bus call more walkouts despite bill’s approval
Employees on city buses on Wednesday decided to continue with walkouts in protest at the government’s overhaul of the debt-ridden public transport system even though the changes were voted into law late on Tuesday.
Unionists representing the bus workers declared work stoppages from 11 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. on February 18, 21, 25 and 28. The workers are also due to join a 24-hour walkout that the country’s two main labor unions have planned for February 23.
