Archbishop to visit jailed monk
Archbishop Ieronymos is to visit Ephraim, the monk at the center of the Vatopedi real estate affair, at Korydallos Prison in Athens, where he is being held on charges of money laundering and embezzlement, the Holy Synod said in a statement on Thursday.
The statement expressed support for the decisions of the judiciary — ?although they have not always been entirely correct? — but said that the archbishop would visit the monk to express the Synod?s support and solidarity.
