Transplants chief resigns in dispute with minister
The head of the National Transplant Organization (EOM), Yiannis Vlachoyiannis, resigned from his post on Frida, citing objections to a bill drafted by the Health Ministry regarding organ transplants.
The bill aims to boost the number of organs available for transplants by allowing the donation of organs without the consent of a potential donor?s relatives.
Commenting, Health Minister Andreas Loverdos said, ?The head of an organization cannot impose his own agenda on the minister.?
