Second jewelry store smashed open
Unidentified robbers netted large quantities of jewelry and cash after driving a stolen car through the facade of a store in the port of Piraeus early on Tuesday.
Noone was hurt in the raid, which occurred at around 6 a.m. when the establishment had been closed, according to police.
Witnesses said they saw the robbers getting away in another car. The vehicle used in the raid was damaged beyond repair.
The raid comes one day after a similar robbery on a jewelry store in Nea Philadelphia, northeast of Athens. In that raid, which occured shortly before 6 a.m., the assailants used a stolen truck to smash the facade of the store. Again noone was hurt.
