Greek pilots eject to safety as Mirage fighter jet crashes

Two Greek air force pilots safely ejected on Thursday before their Mirage 2000 crashed off the island of Samos in the southeastern Aegean Sea.

The fighter jet had been taking part in a military drill along with three more aircraft when its engine lost thrust.

The two pilots, who were not injured, were collected by a Greek army vessel that was sailing in the area. Investigations are under way to determine the cause of the accident.
