Power cuts to continue across Greece
The management of the Public Power Corporation (PPC) said on Tuesday that it would continue to conduct power outages across the country as an increasing number of electricity plants have become suboperational due to a second week of strike action by PPC workers and demand for power has skyrocketed as temperatures rise and the use of air-conditioning units increases.
Power outages will be carried out between 11 a.m. and 3.30 p.m. on mainland Greece, on the southern Aegean island of Crete between 8.10 p.m. and 10.10 p.m. and on Rhodes between 7.30 p.m. and 10.10 p.m.
PPC?s management has made a court appeal for the action of the workers? union, GENOP, to be declared illegal and abusive but there had been no verdict issued by late Tuesday.
