Kiltidis quits as Democratic Alliance MP
Dora Bakoyannis?s centrist Democratic Alliance lost one of its five MPs on Wednesday when Costas Kiltidis quit the party following the parliamentary vote on the latest austerity measures.
Kiltidis resigned from the party but held on to his parliamentary seat after falling out with the former foreign minister over her style of leadership. It is a blow to Bakoyannis, who attracted three deputies from New Democracy to her party.
Kiltidis left the conservative party in June 2010 over a disagreement with leader Antonis Samaras.
It is rumored that Kiltidis may now join the right-wing Popular Orthodox Rally (LAOS) rather than sit as an independent.
