The first, 406-ton section of the span of the 2.25-kilometer road bridge under construction between Rio in the northern Peloponnese and Antirio in central Greece is maneuvered into position by a floating crane in this picture made available yesterday. The 27-meter-wide, 16-meter-long segment will stand at a height of 55 meters above the water. Another 181 sections are to be installed.
