Israeli president thanks Greeks for blocking ships

Israeli President Shimon Peres thanked on Monday his visiting Greek counterpart Karolos Papoulias for the Greek authorities? help in stopping a flotilla bound for Gaza.

The Israeli president praised Athens for ?handling things in a legal and strict manner.? ?It needs to be said that Gaza will be free once it disassociates itself from terrorism,? Haaretz quoted Peres as saying.

Papoulias, for his part, said that ?Israel?s security is an essential condition for a solution? to unrest in the Middle East. The two men also discussed areas of possible bilateral business cooperation.
