Booksellers object to ministry’s online plan

The Greek Federation of Publishers and Booksellers on Monday voiced objections to the Education Ministry?s plan to upload all university course material online from 2014.

The publishers said that such a move would require their permission but they claim that nobody from the ministry has so far asked them.

The ministry said it would make the materials available online for free partly in a bid to reduce the costs of buying the books.

The publishers said they are not against the idea of material being made available electronically but warned against ?passively accepting a Playstation education.?
