Chairman and managing director of Aris arrested over debts to state

The chairman and managing director of Aris soccer club were arrested in Thessaloniki on Tuesday over the team’s unpaid debts to the state.

Aris is reported to have run up debts in excess of 8 million euros since 2009.

The chairman, Athanasios Athanasiadis, and managing director, Antonis Zambetas, were to face a local prosecutor.
