Cyprus president to seek a reshuffle

Cyprus President Dimitris Christofias is expected to seek the resignation of all his cabinet members on Thursday, ahead of a reshuffle, after the junior partner in the island?s two-party governing coalition, centrist DIKO, said it had asked its ministers to resign.

The DIKO move appeared to be a bid to force the hand of the Nicosia government which has been weakened by an energy crisis provoked by a munitions dump explosion that killed 13 people and destroyed the island?s biggest power plant on July 11.
