Temperature to rise to 40C briefly this week
Greece is bracing for a mini-heat wave this week with temperatures expected to touch 40C on Tuesday.
The extremely hot weather is only expected to last for a day. Forecasters say the temperature will drop again on Wednesday.
On Monday, the temperature is due to peak at 37C but is due to rise to 39C on Tuesday. In some parts of Greece, it could reach as high as 40C.
There will be a noticeable drop on Wednesday, according to forecasters, aided by the strong Meltemi winds, which are expected to reach 8 on the Beaufort scale.
