Transport reduced on August 15 holiday

Public transportation companies will be running reduced services over the August 15 national holiday, the Athens Urban Transport Organization (OASA) announced on Tuesday.

Blue buses will be running according to their standard Sunday schedule on Monday, August 15, and to Saturday?s schedule the following day, Tuesday, August 16.

Trolley buses will be reducing services on August 15 only, running their customary Sunday schedule with a longer waiting time at bus stops, though their August 16 services will be unaffected by the exodus of holidaymakers.

From August 15-21, the Athens metro will be running services every 10-15 minutes from 5.30 a.m. to 12.20 past midnight in every direction, with Friday?s and Saturday?s late-night trains, running from 12.20 past midnight to 2.20 a.m., departing every 15 minutes.

According to OASA there will be no change in the services of the ISAP electric railway, though the Kifissia-bound platform at Monastiraki station will remain closed due to maintenance work on the line.
