Greek student arrested in Istanbul riots returns home
A Greek student who was detained earlier this week in Istanbul amid ongoing anti-government protests returned to Greece on Friday after being deported by the Turkish authorities.
Giorgos Iatridis, who was in Istanbul under the Erasmus student exchange program, faced a prosecutor on Thursday but was not charged.
Another 12 foreign students had been taken into custody following a police crackdown on protesters at Gezi Park.
