Ex-minister joins nationalist LAOS party

Costas Kiltidis, the former New Democracy and Democratic Alliance MP, joined the Popular Orthodox Rally (LAOS) on Friday.

Kiltidis left the conservatives after Antonis Samaras was elected head of the party as he had been one of the closest associates of leadership rival Dora Bakoyannis.

Kiltidis then played a prominent role in the forming of a new centrist party in November 2010 under the leadership of Bakoyannis.

However, the former deputy agriculture minister quit Democratic Alliance earlier this year as he felt the party was not critical enough of the government.

Kiltidis will represent LAOS in Thessaloniki.
