Merger of state bodies to begin
The process of merging and shutting down many of Greece?s customs and tax offices is due to begin on Monday.
The first step will be the closure of an Athens customs office and the merging of several other departments.
The government aims to have merged 288 tax offices into 30 by the end of 2012, with a range of tax-related transactions being passed on to Citizens? Advice Bureaus (KEPs).
The first 20 tax offices to be merged are due to be announced in the next few days.
