Two caught as cabbie raids rise
Police in Athens on Monday detained two Albanian nationals, aged 19 and 31, after the pair allegedly threatened a 59-year-old taxi driver at gunpoint before driving off with his vehicle.
Police traced the cab and cornered the thieves following a car chase.
In a related development on Monday, police statistics showed that armed raids on taxi drivers increased by 56 percent in the first five months of this year.
