Suspect linked to landfill corpse

A 34-year-old Pakistani man is to face an Athens prosecutor on Tuesday charged with the murder of a 42-year-old compatriot whose dismembered body was discovered in parts at the Ano Liosia dump in northwestern Athens and in an apartment in the central neighborhood of Ambelokipi in January.

The victim?s head and legs were found at the landfill, his torso in the Ambelokipi apartment and his arms in nearby dumpsters.

Police have linked another two Pakistanis to the murder – one is in custody while the other remains at large. The three suspects are alleged to have killed the 34-year-old after failing to secure ransom money from the man?s father in Pakistan.
