Psomiadis ponders future

Suspended Central Macedonia Governor Panayiotis Psomiadis promised on Tuesday to take ?calm, serious? decisions after the Supreme Court rules on October 19 whether he can stay on in his elected post.

?Whatever decision I take will not be against my country, Macedonia, New Democracy and [its leader] Antonis Samaras,? said Psomiadis, who has been linked with a move to the Popular Orthodox Rally (LAOS) in the past.

Psomiadis was found guilty of breach of duty by an appeals court earlier this year for reducing a fine imposed on a Thessaloniki gas station that sold adulterated fuel while he was the northern port city?s prefect.
