Cabbies launch 24-hour Saturday strike
Fresh disruptions in Greek transport can be expected Saturday, with a 24-hour taxi strike beginning at 5 a.m.
Cab drivers from all over Greece are expected to meet in Thessaloniki on the occasion of the northern port city?s International Fair, as part of an ongoing protest against the government?s plan to open up their sector to competition.
Following a meeting on Friday, representatives rejected the government?s proposal in its entirety and pledged further strike action.
