SYRIZA leader questions ‘secret fund’

The leader of the Coalition of the Radical Left (SYRIZA), Alexis Tsipras, on Wednesday asked the government to explain why funding for unrecorded payments by the Foreign Ministry had gone more than 200 percent over budget for the past two years.

Tsipras produced ministry documents, which he claims prove that the ministry received 57 million euros in 2009, 68 million euros in 2010 and up to 60 million euros this year for a ?secret fund.?

Tsipras said that for all those years, only 18 million euros had been budgeted. He added that there was no record of who had received this money from the Foreign Ministry.
