Methadone center moves to Goudi

A new methadone center run by the Organization Against Drugs (OKANA), which will treat up to 320 drug addicts, opened on Wednesday within the grounds of a military facility in Goudi, eastern Athens.

This signaled the closure of another center on Kapodistiriou Street in downtown Athens.

The OKANA centers in the city center have in recent years become synonymous with rising crime, resulting in demands by residents and store owners for them to be moved.
