ADEDY and PAME to hold demonstrations in city center

The civil servants? union, ADEDY, has called a protest rally for 6 p.m. on Thursday at Klafthmonos Square, resuming its protest action against the government?s ongoing austerity drive.

Meanwhile, Communist-affiliated labor union PAME has called on supporters to join a protest rally outside Parliament on Friday night when a vote of confidence in the government is due to be held.

The head of the General Confederation of Greek Labor (GSEE), Yiannis Panagopoulos, said on Wednesday that his union was planning more protest action against the government?s austerity drive but did not provide any specific dates.

?The dates will be decided on by the executive committee based on political developments,? Panagopoulos said.
