Policemen attacked in Exarchia ambush
Five off-duty policemen traveling on four motorcycles were attacked while in the central Athens neighborhood of Exarchia early Friday.
The officers were set upon by a group of some 20 people as they were on their way to report for duty at the local police station.
Police said that the hooded assailants attacked the officers with iron bars, planks of wood, rocks and an ax. The officers escaped unhurt but their motorcycles were damaged.
