Cretan earthquakes

A moderately strong earthquake, measuring 4.8 on the Richter scale, shook the Cretan port of Iraklio shortly before 11 p.m. on Sunday but caused no injuries or damage.

According to seismologists, the epicenter of the quake was located beneath the seabed some 70 kilometers northeast of Iraklio.

A series of aftershocks, measuring up to 3.5 Richter, occurred on Monday morning, seismologists said.
