Ex-president of TSPEATH fund detained in bond probe
Journalist Dimitris Kapranos was remanded in custody on Thursday after being questioned by a magistrate in connection to claims that he profited from an investment in a structured bond by the Pension Fund for Press Employees (TSPEATH), which he was president of.
TSPEATH invested in the 130-billion-euro government note in July 2006 with several other funds.
Documents submitted to the court indicated that 1.8 million euros was deposited in Kapranos?s Swiss bank account a few days after the bond purchase. Kapranos denies any wrongdoing.
