Details on property tax to be unveiled Tuesday
The government has said it plans to unveil details about social groups that will be exempt from an emergency property tax by Tuesday.
In an interview with Mega television Monday, Ilias Plaskovitis, who is general secretary at the finance ministry, said delays were caused by efforts to provide a complete list.
He said the tax will also apply next year ? but may not be collected through electricity bills.
The tax has met with angry protests across the country while there are numerous reports of miscalculated charges.
On Tuesday, Plaskovitis said that property owners will have to pay the first installment regardless of any mistakes. Corrections and adjustments, he said, will be included in the second installment.
