Pharmacists’ strike unjustified, says minister

Labor Minister Giorgos Koutroumanis on Monday accused striking pharmacists of unfairly deciding not to continue providing medicines on credit to customers insured with social security funds because of the organizations? large unpaid bills.

Pharmacists, who are on the last day of their 48-hour strike today, claim they are owed a total of 400 million euros by the funds and will ask customers to pay in cash for their drugs and claim back the money from the organizations.

Koutroumanis argued that the pharmacists? action was excessive and that they would be paid their next installment on Thursday.
