Municipality sets up hotline for homeless people

The head of the City of Athens?s center for homeless people, Giorgos Apostolopoulos, has called on residents to help authorities locate citizens who might be in need of help, particularly during this current cold snap.

Speaking to Skai TV on Sunday, Apostolopoulos said that a hotline has been set up for people to report the location of homeless people, who authorities will then try and take to one of the two centers currently in operation on Sophocleous Street and at a basketball stadium in Rouf.

The number is 210.52.46.515-6. It is estimated that the number of homeless people has increased by 25 percent in the last two years.
