Farmers’ protests to resume this week
Farmers are to launch a new wave of protest action starting this week, staging demonstrations outside offices of the Greek Farming Insurance Fund (ELGA) around the country.
The farmers, who are protesting the imposition of new taxes, have threatened to scale up their action in the countdown the annual Agrotica farm equipment fair in Thessaloniki on February 5.
It is unclear if blocking key road junctions will form part of their protest action, as has been the case in recent years.
