Man, 27, arrested for tax evasion
A 27-year-old man has been arrested by police in Patra, Peloponnese, for outstanding debts to the state, Skai reported on Monday.
The suspect, who was arrested by police on Sunday, is alleged to owe some 282 thousand euros to the state, the report said.
Kept afloat only by bailout loans, Greece is desperate to convince its international lenders that it is capable of combating rampant tax dodging and filling depleted state coffers with tax income as part of reforms to get its finances back on track.
