Four businessmen arrested for debts to state
Police on Monday arrested several more entrepreneurs linked to large-scale tax evasion.
Officers in the Aitoloakarnania district in western Greece arrested a 30-year-old businessman believed to owe 7.5 million euros in unpaid taxes. No details were revealed about the nature of his work.
In Megara, west of Athens, police apprehended a 35-year-old man said to owe some 3.2 million euros to the state.
In northern Greece, police arrested two people — a 58-year-old textiles producer in Thessaloniki with arrears of 1.2 million euros and a 67-year-old managing director of a concrete factory with an unpaid tax bill of 605,695 euros.
