Ombudsman argues for refunds from transport strikes

The Ombudsman wrote to the Athens Urban Transport Organization (OASA) on Wednesday to suggest that it develop a scheme to compensate travel card holders when there is a public transport strike.

Public transport shut down more than a dozen times last year due to strikes, meaning that passengers who had bought weekly, monthly or annual tickets lost out.

The Ombudsman, who is responsible for protecting citizens? rights, has proposed that OASA change its passenger charter to allow travel card holders to be compensated.
