None of the economic agencies polled for IPROSEC believe the family is a significant factor in employment. «The family hasn’t been a significant factor. But the problems it faces are real and are connected with insurance cover, healthcare and so on. Family budgets can be upset at any moment by problems. There has never been any serious planning, the quality of life is constantly declining, and serious economic problems are apparent,» said a trade union representative. Employers and trade unions both stated that family obligations concerned them, because they affect the performance of workers in the workplace. «Work is part of life, and so the better and more smoothly people have organized their family life, the better they perform at work,» commented one respondent.
